ANDERSON MILLER - BRIGHT CITY (LP - rem22 – 1971)
Notes : Miller Anderson è un chitarrista e cantante, nato il 12 aprile 1945 a Houston, Renfrewshire, in Scozia. Da quando si è fatto le ossa in band con Ian Hunter (pre-Mott the Hoople) e Bill Bruford (pre-King Crimson e Yes), Anderson è stato membro di Keef Hartley Band, Savoy Brown, T. Rex, Mountain, Spencer Davis Group e in formazioni guidate da Jon Lord dei Deep Purple e dal cantante folk-rock Donovan. Il suo debutto nel 1971 Bright City è stato pubblicato dalla leggendaria Deram, sottoetichetta della Decca. L'album è un brillante esempio di folk moderno con arrangiamenti lussureggianti. Un brillante songwriting insieme a un feeling pastorale, melodie gentili e un solido background con musicisti straordinari a tenere le fila tra pop e blues contemporaneo. Harold Beckett (John Surman, Graham Collier) al flicorno e Lyn Dobson (The Keef Hartley Band, The People Band, Third Ear Band) al flauto erano letteralmente sostenitori della scena sperimentale e jazz-rock britannica, il loro contributo è alla base della grandezza di questo disco. Lo stesso dicasi per il tastierista Mick Weaver, un altro allievo di Keef Hartley.
